MANAGING DIRECTOR

ING. VICTOR STEWENS

Mr. Stewens was born in Germany where he graduated as a Mechanical Engineer. His professional life began at KWU-Siemens, a German nuclear plant designer, in the Quality Assurance department where he dealt with quality assurance manuals & programs, quality control on site and quality audits to providers of nuclear components.

In 1987 he began his career in the re-insurance industry, within the Engineering department of Munich Re in Munich. A year later he moved to Mexico, where as underwriter he was in charge of engineering in Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean. In 1995 he returned to Munich in view of possible de-monopolization of the Brazilian reinsurance market. A year later Mr. Stewens opened the Office of Munich Re in Sao Paolo where he represented the company and its products for two years.

In the beginning of 1998, Mr. Stewens had the opportunity to return to Mexico with Swiss Re in the department of Corporate Business to familiarize large industrial customers with Alternative Risk Transfer. Later, he started a portfolio of Larger Corporate Risks, and then, following a Merger & Acquisition, Mr. Stewens assumed responsibility for the Non-Life facultative underwriting for Mexico and Central America at Swiss Re’s offices in Mexico.

Due to changes in the company’s policy, Mr. Stewens relocated in 2003 for a brief tenure to the direct insurance market with AIG Mexico, where he served in charge of the department of Property, first being responsible for the Mexican market and later for a region.

Mr. Stewens has given lectures, presentations and seminars on various technical topics in different Latin American countries.

During 2006, Mr. Stewens conceptualized the idea of a professional reinsurance underwriting operation located in Mexico. As a result, at the beginning of 2007, RISC was formed.

PARTNERS & COLLABORATORS

Among the founding partners of RISC is Heinz-Peter Crain, who joined RISC's operation from the beginning in 2006. His input has been extremely valuable during our Technical Lines underwriting activities for a Facility Manager in Miami. His relationship with the LA insurance market has contributed significantly to the development of RISC.

Mauricio Voorduin, former Technical Director of Munich Re Mexico and head of the firm MV Consultores, has been another very experienced collaborator with whom we shared assignments and performed a large number of risk studies. We continue to consult Mr. Voorduín when we consider it necessary to obtain a second opinion - under the principle that "four eyes see more than two".

Occasionally, third party services are retained, when circumstances require it. In this context it is worth mentioning our incursion into thermography and digital photogrammetry.
